A leading international paper and packaging group with 35,000 employees in 35 countries with two primary businesses - Packaging and Business Paper, had the goal to reduce the costs with their B2B platform, regarding the addition of new partners and messages. Our first engagement was to design the architectural solution to address their messaging needs. The delivered design defined a new integration architecture, as well as a governance model, development rules and services catalog. Mondi asked us to prove the advantages of the new architecture work. The result was the creation of a highly flexible, scalable, and fully configurable B2B Hub in less than 2 months. The B2B Hub uses papiNet XML internally, and is built to easily accomodate other standards and custom formats in communication with partners and internal SAP systems. Currently, integrating a new partner or message type takes no more than 4 hours and the B2B platform handles more than 3,000 business messages daily from more than 25 partners. The governance model has since been extended to another 12 applications. |
